It looks like the pro channel is missing this feature, too, so i would say grab the pro mpa ii. With two variable input impedance channels featuring 12ax7 tubes and 70db of gain, this tube preamp offers professional functionality and sound that outperforms much of it’s competition.
Art lives up to its reputation of making great sounding yet affordable professional audio products with the pro mpa ii.
Art pro channel ii vs mpa ii. I know the pro mpa ii has this whereas the original pro mpa does not. Donc, ton choix devrait logiquement se. I need some advice so, i am in the market to buy a new mic preamp.
Level before the output level control as well. Art pro mpa ii vs. I have never recorded bass with it.
The art mpa (ii) circuits were built for the 12ax7. I am considering getting a pro channel as they have a ton of great features for the price. The art pro mpa ii doesn’t have the bottom end that my isa one has and i do record quite a bit of latin music, which demands a deep, thunderous bass.
Heres the thing, i have experience with the dbx 386, which is the dual, just mic pre version of the 376. I have around $500 to spend and i was looking at two: The prompa ii can be configured for dual mono or stereo operation with selectable mid/side mic support, summing the adjacent channel, to decode left/right signals.
Repeated the same procedure for this unit. Il ne dispose pas non plus d'alimentation phantom 48v donc inutilisable avec un micro statique (si jamais il acceptait un niveau micro). Art pro mpa ii tube.
One of the plastic knob covers fell off within a week (easily corrected with crazy glue). Sweetwater n/a / n/a $429.99. Il nécessite très certainement un niveau ligne en entrée et pas un niveau micro.
It is entry level gear for me. Le mpa ii est bien un préampli micro à lampe. All the others mentioned provide less gain than the 12ax7 thus require more gain/boost to acheive same output as the 12ax7.
An affordable, versatile tube mic preamp. It's loaded with the right complement of professional features to deliver a serious sonic upgrade for any project studio or mobile recording studio. The switches on the pro mpa ii are backlit and illuminate when depressed.
Second art pro mpa ii: Art pro channel 1 vs 2 (rackmount tube preamp + compression + eq) alright i know this isn't pedal related per say but being a rack mount studio tool i figure i could still get some feedback here. Make sure the one you buy has the high voltage switch, otherwise it will be more of a distortion effect than a true tube effect.
Channel 1 works like a champ. Art have a long‑standing reputation for delivering good, affordable audio processors, and their pro mpa2 seems set to continue that tradition. The pro mpa ii is an attractively styled processor, with a black anodized front panel and matching knobs.
The gain or +20db button really have zero effect on the hiss though. Re:art pro channel ii 2012/03/28 00:26:08 ( permalink ) i actually got the pro channel ii last week. The reason i pulled the trigger was the switchable tube plate voltage , the variable mic impedance, and i wanted the optical compressor.
The art pro mpa ii on bass. One of each would be good. Log in or register to post comments.
Le vla ii est un compresseur à lampe. It would definitely be usable on bass, but i have a focusrite isa one that i prefer.
